About Open Your Eyes

Growing up, I saw many injustices in this world that were never dealt with. I heard about terrors Operation Desert Storm be pushed under the rug, I saw people be taken advantage of by large oil corporations; watched as people learned about the shit conditions of factory workers in developing countries and China and do absolutely nothing about it. I learned through this injustice that more times than not, everyday citizens know nothing about shady political activities that happen almost weekly, and I told myself one day I was going to chagne that. Although this is only the starting point, I believe this is a good place to begin to spread the word about everyday horrors all across the globe.

Many people believe the government is corrupt, yet if you ask them for examples, they can tell you either none or very few. People realize there is a problem, but know what the problem entails nor do they know how to combat this problem. I believe knowledge is the key to all of these things. A government is able to supress an entire population as long as the inner workings of the government are kept quiet; just look to Nazi Germany or Stalin's Russia for prime examples.

The entire point of Open Your Eyes is defined within the title; I want to be able to open people's eyes about underground, lesser known political activity throughout the world, but more prominently in the U.S. I believe that the government has managed a way to keep the people at bay through a two party system. Why does nothing ever get done in Congress? The Democrats blame the Republicans, the Republicans blame the Democrats. Its gotten to the point to that people will compeletely dismiss ideals just based on the fact that it didn't come from their political party. This has become an epidemic in the U.S., and I believe that the spreading of knowledge will help to not only help stop this pandemic and help us grow as a society, but I believe that it will help keep citizens of the U.S. safe from a government that may try to eventually overstep its powers
